This New Brunswick Trail Transforms Into A Spectacular Valley Of Ice In The Winter (PHOTOS)

Tucked away in the tranquil forest of New Brunswick is a spectacular valley, which gets only better in the winter as it becomes covered with layers of thick ice.

As the weather gets colder this becomes one of the best winter hikes in New Brunswick, offering a unique experience of walking through a frozen valley.

Parlee Brook Amphitheatre Trail is 6.6 kilometres and rated as moderate on AllTrails. The hike will take you past snow-covered trees and gently flowing creeks, as it brings you to the breathtaking finale.

Since it's an out-and-back trail you'll be wandering deeper and deeper into the thick forest for the first part, before reaching the amphitheatre.

In the winter you'll want to wear snowshoes or crampons because of the amount of snowfall and ice here.

Following the trail, you'll eventually reach the frozen valley of the amphitheatre.

The steep walls of the valley are coated with blue-tinged ice, and you can walk between them up to the end. At the end of the valley you'll see jagged icicles hanging down, making it look all that more beautiful.

Be careful of falling ice while here though and stay on the trail. Once you enter into the valley it's especially icy, so also make sure to watch your step while walking.

This hike is year-round so you can do it during any season, but it's especially stunning during the colder months when it's completely frozen.

Before going you can check out the recent reviews on AllTrails to make sure it's the frozen wonderland you're hoping for.
