Justin Trudeau Showed Up At A PWHL Hockey Game & Gave The Hometown Team A Pep Talk (VIDEO)

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau showed his support for the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) Ottawa team on Wednesday.

Trudeau attended the game with two of his kids and they even stopped by the locker room to give the team a pep talk ahead of the game against Boston.

Canada's PM shared photos from his visit on Instagram, which show him speaking to the team at The Arena at TD Place.

"Xav, Ella, and I are so happy to be here – and to be cheering for @PWHL_Ottawa. Go Ottawa!" he wrote.

In a clip shared online, Trudeau also gave the team a pep talk ahead of the game.

"The people you are inspiring, the young women you're bringing along in seeing that anything is possible is super exciting," Trudeau said.

The team then presented Trudeau with his very own team jersey with the number 24 on it, which Trudeau tried on right away.

"What a game, @PWHL_Ottawa! You fought hard and played tough – and like you've done at every game so far, you've shown countless other women that they belong on the ice, too. Keep making history, and keep making us proud," Trudeau tweeted.

Other videos from the game show Trudeau and his kids cheering on the Ottawa team from the stands.

The game ended with a 3-2 win for Boston.

Ottawa's next game is scheduled for Saturday. The team will take on the Montreal team at Place Bell Arena in Laval at 3:30 pm EST.
