Looking for your next adventure spot? A Canadian national park was just named one of the best places to visit in the world in 2024, and it's sure to fuel your wanderlust.

The New York Times has released its annual list of 52 Places To Go, naming a wild Canadian national park reserve among the must-visit destinations for 2024.

With secluded beaches, towering monoliths, and an abundance of wildlife, here's why you'll want to plan a trip.

In its 52 Places To Go In 2024 list, the NYT named Quebec's Mingan Archipelago as a trip-worthy spot.

Located in the Cote-Nord region of Quebec, the archipelago is made up of over a thousand islands and islets, with tons to explore.

The national park is home to the largest concentration of monoliths in Canada, giant limestone structures over 450 million years old that have been slowly eroded over time by the waves and wind, and continue to be sculpted by the water.

Here, you can hike amid the towering sculptures and discover diverse ecological areas like peat bogs, salt marshes and boreal forests, teeming with flora. The park offers more than 80 kilometres of trails on over nine different islands.

If you'd rather be on the water, there are also sea excursions and activities like kayaking and paddleboarding offered here.

Bring your camera, because there's lots of wildlife to see here, including Atlantic puffins, grey, harbour, and harp seals.

There are also plenty of whale-watching opportunities, with minke whales known to swim close to shore and blue whales, humpback whales and Finn whales swimming further offshore.

According to Parks Canada, black bears and moose can occasionally also be found on certain islands near the coast.

Sunsets are breathtaking here with the towering limestone monoliths bathed in golden light. If you want to extend your visit, you can also camp at the park, which offers front country camping, oTENTik tents, and other accommodations.
