Michelle Yeoh went on a huge restaurant tour of Toronto during 'Star Trek' — here's where



If there's one thing Michelle Yeoh loves about Toronto, it's the food.

The Oscar-winning actress spent several months in Toronto filming Star Trek: Section 31 and when she wasn't in front of the camera, Yeoh was dining at various restaurants in the city.

From a Singaporean cafe to one specializing in French-inspired pastries, the Crazy Rich Asians actress tried numerous dishes at each spot she dined at.

Kiss My Pans shared an Instagram post on Sunday which revealed the actress was leaving the city after she wrapped up filming her latest project.

"Thanks for having your last meal here before you fly home. We’ll miss your face around here. Please come back to Toronto soon," the post reads.

Why You Need To Go: Kiss My Pans is a Singaporean cafe inside a cheese shop in Toronto's Little Italy neighbourhood.

The cafe offers a Singaporean brunch as well as desserts and it's a favourite of Yeoh's as she dined there several times while she was in Toronto.

In an Instagram post, the cafe thanked Yeoh for her support "week after week" after her various "dine-ins and take outs."

"Felt kinda surreal having her in our space again and again but yet it felt familiar at the same time. It was like seeing an old friend because that’s just how she makes others feel. There are always hugs, jokes and warmth," the post reads.

The cafe shared that Yeoh stopped by for one of her first visits in January.

At the time, Kiss My Pans told Narcity the Everything Everywhere All At Once actress was "very friendly" and ordered the laksa, beef rendang, hor fan, bak kut teh and iced kopi.

"She was very excited to see that we had Kueh Salat and asked if we made it in-house. She also ordered the roasted chicken rice and a tub of sambal to go," the restaurant said.

Lao Lao Bar

Why You Need To Go: Yeoh also visited Lao Lao Bar on several occasions.

The bar, which specializes in Lao food, offers dishes like Tom Yum Shrimp soup, Green Papaya Fritters and Lao Heavenly Beef Jerky.

Earlier this month, Yeoh dropped by with a huge group for a meal that consisted of delicious charcuterie and drinks.

The actress also dropped by for a visit in January and celebrated the Lunar New Year there in February.

Why You Need To Go: Roselle Desserts in Toronto specializes in modern French-inspired pastries like shortbreads, madeleines, crêpes and cakes.

The Toronto bakery was also part of Yeoh's food tour. The actress dropped by in January and tried the shop's new sausage, potato and spinach galette.

"She came by this morning to pick up some treats for her hardworking crew and was thrilled to see that we’re doing well," the bakery said in an Instagram post after sharing that it had been five years since her first visit.

Why You Need To Go: Soos in Toronto serves Malaysian street food with a twist. The menu includes dishes like Kapitan Chicken Tacos, Sambal Chili, Pork Belly Pancakes and Rendang Braise Short Rib.

Yeoh dined at Soos in February and the restaurant thanked her for paying them a visit in an online post.
