The town, which is located an hour and a half from the city, is celebrating its Celtic heritage this spring and you can enjoy all sorts of Scottish-themed entertainment.

You'll feel like you've hopped on a plane and jetted off to another country as you experience historic streets, old-world vibes and the sound of bagpipes.

Port Perry is a lakefront town featuring Victorian architecture and Scottish heritage. On April 7, 2024, the destination is hosting its eleventh Annual Tartan Day Parade to commemorate its Celtic roots.

The event is a "vibrant showcase of Scottish culture" and you can see bagpipe performers, traditional dancers, Scottish attire and decor, Scottish singers, local dignitaries and Scotsman and more.

According to a press release, the parade is the only one of its kind in Canada and will take place at 2 p.m.

Following the parade, you can head to Sunnybrae Golf Club for food and a party. Tickets for this event can be purchased at The Wee Tartan Shop in Port Perry.

The town features many cute local shops, restaurants and cafes that you can enjoy as well, making it an idyllic spot for a spring getaway near Toronto.
