Like the rest of us, big-time celebrities enjoy dining out at spots that serve delicious food and delectable drinks. Luckily for the famous faces who visit Calgary, there's no shortage of restaurants, bars and cafes to grab a bite and some beverages.

With its solid reputation for good food, it should come as no surprise that more than a few celebrities have passed through CHARCUT's doors. Famous guests have included members of 98 Degrees, country singer Brett Kissel and rapper Ludacris.

Besides the great steaks, celebrities and common folk alike can enjoy a range of dishes at CHARCUT made with ingredients sourced from small farms and producers. Top choices include the crispy pork belly with pickled chilis, the bone marrow boscaiola pasta and the whole grilled branzino.

In 2022, Lord of the Rings actors Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd and Sean Astin also visited the restaurant. What they ate hasn't been disclosed, but options could have included the hot honey chicken or charcoal-grilled Alberta striploin.

Address: 6515 Bowness Rd. N.W., Calgary, AB

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, Salt & Pepper is a solid choice. Since 1988, this family-run spot has served a range of regional Mexican dishes. The chilaquiles are a popular menu item that Guy Fieri recently showcased on his Food Network show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Chilaquiles are a Mexican breakfast dish that feature tortilla chips tossed in chili. They're typically topped with queso fresco, pickled onions and crema. Salt & Pepper uses a vibrant chili verde sauce and tops the chips with chicken that's been stewed down in a red chili sauce.

When Guy Fieri tried the chilaquiles at Salt & Pepper, he said, "Bury me in this." He also had nothing but good things to say about the combination plate, which comes with a chile relleno, a chicken enchilada with mole sauce and a carnitas taco.
