Halloween might not even be here yet, but people are already getting excited for the holiday season, and luckily there are lots of events around Vancouver that will get you in the festive mood.

From the famous Vancouver Christmas market to tree lighting ceremonies — get ready to feel the cheer.

The City of Surrey is hosting one of the most festive affairs and best of all, it's free! You can check out the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival and Holiday Market on November 23 and 24.

The festival will run from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the two days, so you can really experience the magic at night under the twinkling lights.

Held at the Surrey Civic Plaza, the event is outdoors, and there's music, food trucks, and rides all set to get you in the spirit. You can get some holiday shopping in at the market, and walk around enjoying the holiday light displays. Plus, there's the main show — a huge 60-foot tree that will light up on November 23 at 6:30 p.m.

There's also a sparkling light tunnel and 500 feet of waterfall lights, making for perfect photo backdrops.

Surrey is just outside of Vancouver, about a 40-minute drive from downtown, making this the perfect activity to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the wholesome vibes.
