Southern Ontario's weather forecast is warning of a winter storm bringing "heavy snow" this weekend.
Most places, including Toronto and the GTA, are forecast to get up to 10 cm of snow.
The Weather Network has forecast that "a fresh blanket of snow" will cover southern Ontario on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9.
That's because a Colorado low is hitting the Great Lakes region this weekend.
With moisture from the south and "frigid air" over southern Ontario, the snow will be widespread.
Snow will start in the southwestern part of the province on Saturday afternoon and move into the GTA by the evening.
Then, "heavy snow" will be possible overnight and some snow will linger into Sunday morning.
Toronto's weather forecast with this snowstorm is calling for five to 10 cm of snow. That forecast also includes places in the GTA — like Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville, and more — and areas near Lake Huron.
In the Niagara region, five to 10 cm is also expected.
Southwestern Ontario, including Windsor, is set to get around five cm of snow.
Ottawa will just be brushed by the Colorado low which means less than five cm of snow is forecast for the city.
Since there are cold temperatures all over southern Ontario, this is expected to be a fluffier snowfall across the region!
