The card isn't technically required to vote, but bringing it with you can make things smoother at the polls. Plus, it even works as proof of address — just pair it with an accepted piece of ID to confirm your identity. Elections Canada has a full list of what counts as acceptable ID, so it's worth double-checking before you head in.
