Ontario is getting a giant new Costco that'll have a sushi bar, gas pumps and a whole host of other services.
As Narcity previously reported, the province's latest warehouse, located in Newmarket, will open its doors on Wednesday, August 20.
Its address will be at 107 Harry Walker Parkway S., Newmarket, ON, just off the 404 Highway near Davis Drive.
It will be the 42nd Costco location in Ontario, and it's going to be a big one. At around 15,500 square metres, it'll rank among the largest Costco locations in the province.
According to a press release shared with Narcity on Tuesday morning, the new Costco has a wealth of services. It'll feature a fresh sushi bar (similar to the location in Brantford), 24 gas pumps, a selection of beer, wine, champagne, and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages, a hearing aid department, and over 1,000 parking spaces.
The new warehouse is expected to offer consumers the convenience and benefits associated with a Costco membership. Plus, it's created around 80 permanent jobs in the area.
Newmarket Mayor John Taylor will be on hand to officially open the new Costco store. A ceremony will take place at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, and it will be open to the public at 7 a.m.
It'll be the second Costco location to open in the area, joining an existing warehouse just north of town in East Gwillimbury.
This is a developing story. Check back for more details.
