Toronto got so dang hot this summer, it broke serious records. But here's some respite: to help Torontonians beat the heat, nine outdoor swimming pools will remain open beyond Labour Day weekend.
In a news release issued today, the City announced that the following public swimming pools will stay open until September 19:
- Alex Duff Memorial Pool – 779 Crawford St.
- Heron Park Community Centre – 292 Manse Rd.
- Grandravine Community Recreation Centre – 23 Grandravine Dr.
- McGregor Park Community Centre – 2231 Lawrence Ave. E.
- Monarch Park Pool – 115 Felstead Ave.
- Parkway Forest Outdoor Pool – 59 Forest Manor Rd.
- Pine Point Outdoor Pool – 15 Grierson Rd.
- Sunnyside/Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool – 1755 Lake Shore Blvd. W.
- West Mall Outdoor Pool – 380 The West Mall
The pools will be open on September 6, 7, and 8 from 10:30 a.m. to noon for locations that offer lane swim, and noon to 8 p.m. for leisure swim at all locations.
But here's the best part: starting September 9, they'll operate on extended hours.
The public can enjoy leisurely weekday swimming at all locations from 4 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from September 9 to 18.
On the weekends, pools offering lane swim will be open between 10:30 a.m. and noon, and you can still go to any of the pools on the list for leisure swimming between noon and 8 p.m.
All pools will close for the season at 4 p.m. on September 19, so don't forget to take advantage of this extension.
