Toronto's Via Allegro Italian restaurant just opened a stunning new heated patio, and it's the perfect way to get a taste of spring on a dark winter evening.
Via Allegro, which is close to Sherway Gardens, just opened its outdoor, heated glass Atrium in time for the chilly season, but you won't be shivering if you choose this beautiful spit for date night.
The Atrium is decked out in bright pink flowers that'll make you feel like you're dining in a fairytale spring garden no matter what time of year you visit.
The all-season patio is also surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass, so you can enjoy the seasonal scenery without needing to dress for it. Imagine watching the snow fall while eating heartwarming Italian food in a cozy and cheerful atmosphere. Sounds like a romantic dinner to me!
The new menu is curated by MasterChef Canada judge Claudio Aprile and Executive Chef Marco Zandona. The dishes aren't your typical Italian eats but rather are a blend of the classics with inspiration from Japan, Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean.
You can expect to indulge in Tajima wagyu beef tartare, grilled octopus and scallop crudo to start and then enjoy traditional Italian fare afterwards.
The restaurant has a pizza oven that bakes the pies to perfection. You can eat a classic like a Margherita pizza or get adventurous with a Maialino pizza which comes with mortadella, confit shallots, honey and smoked tomato. Yum!
Additionally, Via Allegro has tableside experiences like "a parmesan wheel pasta prep, a Lamb Speducci served over smoking coals, the scallop crudo over a steaming plate dry ice, and the decadent chocolate dome filled with liquid nitrogen that guests smash to reveal an assortment of macarons and fresh fruit," a spokesperson shared in a press release.
And if you're into wine, the restaurant says it has a 70,000-bottle collection that's valued at $10 million. So if you're picky about your wine or want to try something new on a special night out, Via Allegro has got you covered.
