Get your popcorn ready! A bunch of outdoor movies are taking place around Toronto this summer and you can enjoy them for free.
The showings are happening beneath the stars at a number of parks across the city. You can bring blankets and chairs, your favourite snacks and your favourite person and cozy up for a free night out in an open-air cinema.
The 21-date festival will feature a variety of films, from cult classics to romances and more. This year's theme is On the Job, so you can expect to see movies focused on workers and their diverse lifestyles.
The Toronto Outdoor Picture Show is returning for its 14th year starting June 19, 2024. The festival will run in four different parks on select dates until August 25, 2024.
Here's where to catch some free films:
- Fort York, opening week, June 19 to 25
- Christie Pitts, Sundays, July 7 to August 25
- Corktown Common, Thursdays, July 11 to August 1
- Bell Manor Park, August 15 to 17
Food, drinks and sometimes even boozy beverages will be available for purchase at each event.
The festival is completely free to attend and is made possible by charitable donations.
If you're looking for something fun and free to do this summer, grab your best and enjoy a film beneath the stars.
