The Toronto Transit Commission, which is more commonly known as the TTC, is hiring for a bunch of positions in the city.

You can earn between $24 an hour and $45 an hour with these TTC jobs!

Plus, quite a few of the high-paying jobs don't require a university degree or college diploma.

These positions include transit operators, community service representatives and revenue equipment attendants along with jobs in the trades.

If you're looking for work, here are 11 jobs at the TTC that you can apply for right now.

Transit Operator


Salary: $29.44 to $38.43 an hour

Who Should Apply: The TTC is hiring Transit Operators through a "Special Program for Women."

You must be able to work a flexible work schedule involving various shifts and operate transit vehicle (bus, streetcar, subway, light rail transit or Wheel-Trans bus).

It's required that you have a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent, customer service experience, and a valid Ontairo G driver's licence.

You'll have to meet all the standards for obtaining a CZ licence (for bus operators) or an F licence (for Wheel-Trans operators) as well.

Also, you must be a safety-conscious driver with knowledge of the GTA's major roads, intersections and institutions, be able to understand and follow rules, procedures and instructions, be able to deal with and communicate effictvely iwht hte public.

Formwork Carpenter


Salary: $42.35 an hour plus a $1.25 per hour skilled trades premium

Who Should Apply: You need a valid certificate of qualification as a General Carpenter issued by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

That's normally obtained through grade 12 education plus the completion of the apprenticeship training program.

You must have experience and knowledge specific to the construction of concrete forms and shoring including material selection, pour stop bulkheads, expansion joints, specialized anchoring hardware and placements of reinforcing steel.

You also are required to have a valid G Ontario driver's licence.

General Painter


Salary: $31.70 to $41.14 an hour plus a $1.25 per hour skilled trade premium

Who Should Apply: To get hired for this TTC job, you need up to three and a half years of experience which includes one year as a Painter's Improver.

You must have a certificate of qualification as a Commercial and Residential Painter and Decorator issued by the Ontario Ministry of Skills Development. That's normally obtained through grade 12 education and the completion of the apprenticeship training programme.

Also, you need a valid G Ontario driver's licence.

Salary: $43.76 an hour plus a $1.25 per hour skilled trade premium

Who Should Apply: You need to have a valid Truck and Coach Technician Certificate obtained through the completion of a grade 12 technical program and the completion of the apprenticeship training program.

It's also required that you have a valid Ontario G driver's licence and a set of hand tools.

Vehicle Heating, Ventilating and Air Condition Mechanic


Salary: $43.45 an hour plus a $1.25 per hour skilled trade premium

Who Should Apply: You should apply if you have a valid certificate of qualification for a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic issued by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.

That is normally obtained through the completion of a grade 12 education and the successful completion of the apprenticeship program.

You're also required to have a valid G Ontario driver's licence.

Community Services Representative


Salary: $32.33 to $41.51 an hour

Who Should Apply: To get hired you need to have completed a college or university-level course in marketing, communications or another relevant discipline, or have one year of practical experience dealing with issues relating to customer eligibility for para-transit service.

Also, two years of customer service experience in dealing with external and internal customers, community organizations, and the general public is required.

You must be proficient in using computers and software applications (including Microsoft Office, Customer Relationship Management System, and SharePoint) and have knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act.

Track Welder Trainee


Salary: $24.93 to $39.99 an hour

Who Should Apply: You should apply if you have training obtained through the completion of a grade 12 technical program or a recognized equivalent.

Also, you need the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and comprehend operating and safety rules and regulations.

You need to able to use respirators as well.

It's required that you have a valid Ontario G driver's licence and be able to pass tests required for a DZ driver's licence.

Salary: $30.19 to $39.21 an hour

Who Should Apply: This TTC job requires a valid certificate of qualification as a partsperson administered by the College of Trades and the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.

You need to have completed grade 12 to get hired.

Also, you must be able to read and understand verbal and written instructions, write and express yourself clearly, and use a computer and its apps.

You need a valid G Ontario driver's licence as well.

The last day to apply is November 28, 2024.

Salary: $30.79 to $39.99 an hour

Who Should Apply: You need to have completed a grade 12 technical program and post-secondary trade subjects in machine shop practice, electrical theory and MIG/TIG welding.

Also, completed courses in electrical theory comparable to those offered in Part 1 of the Vehicle Electricians Program are required.

You must have the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, communicate effectively, write legibly, and do basic math.

Computer skills like typing, operating a desktop and laptop computer, and using software applications are required.

You need a valid Ontario G driver's licence as well.

Salary: $30.79 to $39.99 an hour

Who Should Apply: This TTC job requires you to have training that's normally obtained through a grade 12 technical program or its recognized equivalent.

You must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions, understand and follow published operating and safety rules and regulations, speak clearly to exchange information and instructions with control centres, and follow proper radio and telephone protocol.

Also, you need practical experience and knowledge of concrete and structural steel repairs involving abrasive blast cleaning, layout/placement of reinforcing steel, and use of concrete materials.

It's required that you have a valid Ontario G driver's licence and be certified to wear a breathing apparatus.
