If you're dreaming of an epic getaway in 2025, it's time to start planning a visit to this incredible spot in Ontario. With breathtaking natural wonders, drool-worthy restaurants, and thrilling attractions, it's a great destination for a day trip or weekend escape.
U.S. News recently unveiled its list of the "Best Places to Visit in Canada for 2025," showcasing 15 must-visit areas from coast to coast.
The destinations were selected based on factors such as affordability, entertainment options, diversity of hotels and resorts and user votes.
One of the featured destinations is a city near Toronto, named as the third best place in the country to visit this year.
Niagara Falls, located about an hour and a half from Toronto, is a popular destination drawing millions of visitors annually. With its rushing waterfalls and exciting attractions, it's no wonder this spot made the cut.
Of course, visiting the Falls is a must-do. Beyond the iconic waterfall, the area offers tons of other experiences, such as Niagara City Cruises, Butterfly Conservatory, White Water Walk and Journey Behind the Falls.
There are endless restaurants to enjoy, as well as thrilling adventures at Clifton Hill, like the SkyWheel.
Niagara is also a great spot to visit if you're looking for some romance.
"Over the years, Niagara has gone from classic honeymoon spot to cheesy honeymoon spot and, now, it's an odd mix of the two," U.S. News said.
"In addition to the stunning waterfalls, there is a large concentration of quickie wedding chapels and hotels backlit in blaring neon."
Other romantic experiences include "strolling through the vineyards of nearby wineries" and "enjoying the lush landscape at the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens."
U.S. News suggests visiting Niagara Falls between June and August.
During summer's peak season, you can enjoy a full range of attractions and sunny skies. During the spring and fall, attractions may be less crowded, but you might have to brave some cooler weather.
The winter's frosty temperatures cause many attractions to close, but the icy falls are a whole new wonder to see. You can also save big on hotels and experiences during the colder season.
The only other Ontario destination to make the list of Canada's best spots to visit was Toronto, coming in at number 9.
