The province's latest round of thunderstorms and other chaotic weather appears to have residents misusing 911 calls again.
Toronto police reported on August 28 that they were experiencing a "high call volume" for weather-related incidents, before advising residents to use the line for emergencies only.

The advisory notes that residents were reaching out to emergency services for downed trees and wires, as well as flooding, all of which did not involve injury.
TPS urged people to contact 311 for assistance with these incidents.
The police also reminded residents that 911 is for situations that require immediate attention for police, paramedics and fire services.
