Protests broke out in Toronto on Wednesday following Premier Doug Ford's announcement about mandatory vaccine certificates in Ontario — but one protest was not like the others.
The latest season of Amazon Prime's popular show The Boys was actually filming a protest scene for an episode in Toronto and it was quite the spectacle.
Twitter users were quick to point out the fake news crews and NYPD police cruisers on the set of the dark superhero comedy.
Fake statues were also seen torn down and vandalized.
A sign placed on the set in Toronto reads, "Scenes shot today will include large protests with amplified voices, small controlled fire and may be graphic and sensitive in nature."
While signage was posted to clarify it was not a real protest, it's easy to see how at first glance, pedestrians may have mistaken it for the real thing.
Toronto Filming posted several photos of the set to Twitter, and if you were downtown yesterday you may have even spotted Homelander himself or someone dressed up as U.S. Capitol rioter "QAnon Shaman."
But this isn't the first time The Boys has been spotted filming in the GTA. The production began filming in Toronto earlier this year and transformed several areas into Vought nation over the course of shooting — like the local storefront that turned into a fast-food joint called Vought-A-Burger or the Metro Convention Centre into Vought Studios.
