From art galleries to public markets and yoga, you can do loads of fun things this weekend that won't put a dent in your wallet.

Here are nine activities you can check out in Vancouver this weekend.

Visit a free art gallery


Price: Free admission at the Belkin Art Gallery

When: Belkin's Aporia exhibit runs until April 14

Address: The University of British Columbia (UBC), 1825 Main Mall, Vancouver

Why You Need To Go: Head to the Belkin Art Gallery located at UBC to check out the Aporia (Notes to a Medium) exhibit that runs until April 14.

Aporia focuses on how "history, mythology and wishful thinking entwine across media and through mediums," according to the gallery's website. As part of this exhibit, Belkin's Outdoor Screen is also showing Mark Lewis's From Third Beach 1 (2010) daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

If you're heading with a group of friends, you can contact the gallery ahead of your visit to set up a group tour.

Beginner Acroyoga class


Price: Free

When: April 13 at 2 p.m. and April 14 at 12:30 p.m.

Why You Need To Go: If you've ever wanted to try out Acroyoga, now's your chance to do so for free. There are a couple of free beginner classes happening in Vancouver this weekend.

No partner or experience is necessary for this beginner class. While a gymnastics mat is provided at the Mount Pleasant location, anyone joining the Sunday class in Downtown Vancouver is asked to bring a yoga mat.

If this is your first time heading to an Acrowest class you are asked to pre-register on AcroWest.com and arrive 10 minutes early to class.

Vancouver Vaisakhi Parade 


Price: Free

When: April 13 from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Address: The parade starts at 11 a.m. at the Khalsa Diwan Society's temple (8000 Ross Street, Vancouver)

Why You Need To Go: One of Vancouver's largest Sikh parades is back this weekend.

The Khalsa Diwan Society's Vaisakhi Parade will take place on Saturday, April 13. The event will feature numerous floats, live entertainment and food so you'll have a fun-filled day if you go.

According to the Vancouver Sun, more than 175,000 parade-goers are expected to attend the event. The Khalsa Diwan Society has a list of parking options available on its website. They also have a map of the parade's route online.

Guided tour at the Griffin Art Projects


Price: Free

When: April 14 at 2:30 p.m.

Address: 1174 Welch St, North Vancouver

Why You Need To Go: The Griffin Art Projects is a non-profit art residency and gallery located in North Vancouver. It supports arts in the production of new work through its residency program and creates new research on contemporary Canadian and international art, according to its website.

You can check out the works at the gallery and get a free guided tour of a new exhibit titled Intersecting Orbits: Michael Morris and Joan Balzar.

Why You Need To Go: If you want to unwind and relax this weekend after a stressful week, you can head to a free guided meditation session held by Heartfulness.

Participants will be guided through a series of "simple yet effective meditation techniques by experienced Heartfulness trainers" during the class.

See the cherry blossoms around Vancouver

Why You Need To Go: Cherry blossoms are in full bloom around Vancouver and you may want to take some time to take in the beautiful sights before they're gone for the season.

The stunning trees are hard to miss with their beautiful pink flowers.
