A Canadian Olympian Pulled An Airport Security Prank & Thankfully They Saw The Funny Side

A Canadian Olympian pulled off a golden moment when leaving Tokyo Airport and thankfully the security workers had a sense a humour.

Track cyclist Kelsey Mitchell, who won gold in the women's individual cycling sprint, hid her medal under her T-shirt as she walked through the metal detectors at security.

As the alarms went off and security staff descended upon her, she pretended to pat herself down and then, with a huge smile on her face, she lifted her medal above her top to show staff what had caused the commotion.

Team Canada won 24 medals at the Tokyo Games, setting multiple records and producing their second biggest haul of medals at a Summer Olympic Games.

The Paralympic Games also began on Tuesday, August 24 and will finish on Sunday, September 5.
