The Canadian federal election is quickly approaching and a new report shows that if people were to head to the polls today, Justin Trudeau wouldn't get the most votes.

The latest survey released by Leger was conducted between August 27 and August 30, and showed that 34% of voters would vote for the Conservatives if they cast their ballots today.

The Liberals would come in second place with 30% of the vote, followed by the NDP at 24%.

But when asked which leader would be the best prime minister, Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet Singh tied at 23%, followed by Erin O'Toole at 21%, according to the survey.

39% of survey respondents think that the Liberal Party will win the upcoming election.
