Toronto Police Just Laid 15 Charges On A Guy In A Major Kidnapping Investigation



The Toronto Police just arrested someone involved in kidnapping for ransom, and they're still on the lookout for more suspects.

On Friday, June 11, police responded to a call for kidnapping in the Faywood Boulevard and Wilson Avenue area, according to a news release issued today.

On June 10, a man was kidnapped and beaten with a firearm. The kidnappers called his friends to demand a ransom. After being paid a cash ransom, the suspects released the victim.

Police did not reveal the exact amounts of money demanded by the kidnappers or paid to them.

"On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, members of the Central North District Major Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Emergency Task Force, executed three Criminal Code Search Warrants in Toronto and York Region, locating and taking one suspect into custody," police officials wrote.

During this search, officers found a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun, over 50 rounds of ammunition, and a cool $10,000 in cash.

Jaye Tamodra, a 25-year-old from Richmond Hill, was charged with the following:

  1. Kidnapping for ransom
  2. Robbery with a firearm
  3. Forcible confinement
  4. Two counts of extortion
  5. Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  6. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
  7. Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  8. Possession of a prohibited device
  9. Possession of proceeds of crime
  10. Possession of a dangerous weapon
  11. Occupy motor vehicle with a firearm
  12. Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
  13. Two counts of careless storage/use of a firearm

Tamodra appeared in virtual court earlier this morning at 10 a.m.

Toronto Police are still on the hunt for two more suspects.
